Large Diameter Weld Tracks

Customer’s Problem

The customer needed to perform welds on 14’ and 24’ OD vessels. This size is extremely large in the orbital welding sphere.

Tri Tool’s Solution

Most of Tri Tool’s weld tracks were made from billet plate and machined to size. Machining these large diameters from billet would have been prohibitively expensive. We were able to work with our rolling vendor to roll multiple segments enabling the track to be transportable and manageable.

Benefits

These large tracks enable the customer to complete a job via orbital welding that they otherwise would have had to hand weld. Orbital welding is far faster and more cost effective than hand welding. Additionally, the weld result is superior compared to manual welding.
